'24 MSAA Summer Institute

In this session, Dr. William Whalen, Principal of Seekonk High School, will present on how administration and teachers at this high school collaborated to develop an intervention block for all students that provides academic support and supports social emotional needs. The "WIN Block" is a 31-minute session provided to all students each morning that invites students to take accountability for their academic needs by offering them the chance to meet with teachers for extra help and study time. On a weekly basis students meet with their advisor in order to plan their week specific to their academic needs. Learn how this intervention block was designed and built into the master schedule.
