'24 MSAA Summer Institute

This workshop will focus on building a strong PBIS tier 1 framework. Partipants will formulate a plan to implement PBIS at their school that includes:
-Developing a PBIS team to oversee the action plan
-Establishing school-wide expectations, common definitions for challening behaviors, consequence levels
-Designing lesson plans for explicit teaching of expected behaviors
-Strategies for training staff
-Utilizing tools for successful implementation of Tier 1 PBIS in year 1
-Using behavior data to inform PBIS practices

This workshop will cover the foundations of PBIS with an understanding that participants may have varying knowledge and experience with the topic. Various entry points will be available for participants to learn more or dive deeper as needed.

At times, the presenter's school will be used as a model of successful implementation of PBIS at the tier 1 level. Participants will explore how the processes and practices can be replicated at their schools.
